The number of reports about the previous edition of Windows 10 continues to rise. Nonetheless, Microsoft pushed for its latest minor update. The update was made available to Insiders who were checking Windows 10 20H1. However, the company’s customers expected that it would address the unresolved startup problems on their computers. A few changes and fixes were reportedly added to the OS. Nevertheless, it hasn’t been long since the 19002.1002 launches, and we’re again hearing about new problems coming to the surface.
Bugs and errors continue to mount. Is there a solution to all these issues?
Microsoft was plagued with complaints from its large clientele, reporting problems during startup. There were also problems with the start menu and the search engine. All of these problems came around just before Microsoft’s October events.
Today, we already have the new Windows 10 19002.1002. Microsoft released a summary of what’s included in this minor update.

Hello Windows 10 Update
A new demo version of Windows 10 20H1 is now available for Fast ring Insiders to review. This most recent build contains a significant number of bug fixes and performance enhancements. Aside from the fact that the Bluetooth experience is now open for anyone to test, there aren’t any major new updates to speak of.
Windows 10 19002.1002 – What’s New?
October 15, 2019, update mainly focuses on improving the Bluetooth connection from devices like keyboard and mouse to computers and fixing the restart issues, which turned out to cause even bigger problems. Microsoft, on the other hand, detailed everything that could come with the latest test update, including:
- The Settings header’s updates accommodate a growing number of users. The text cursor now works better with Word, Run, Outlook, and other apps.
- The Magnifier-centered text cursor option should now work correctly when switching Magnifier modes. And Windows 10 adds some general improvements and bug fixes for the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), and build 19002 fixes many problems.
- Several corrections, such as changes to the VPN settings, visual for the mouse pointers, and languages other than English

Windows 10 19002.1002 – What’s Faulty?
Overall, reports from insiders with fast ring devices mentioned the update causing Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). It is not the aim of an announcement from Microsoft, which indicates that the update has a patch to the start/restore bug. This bug was causing PCs to get stuck after rebooting.
New posts on the Microsoft community forum claim that the BSOD could cause a proxy driver used by cloud services running on the PC. The problem is said to be resolved by uninstalling the software on which such programs depend. But of course, this makes the purpose of cloud-based storage totally useless.
There is no issue if you have not yet upgraded the Windows 10 operating system. This is the advantage of turning off the auto-update on your Windows 10 settings since you can’t downgrade unless you’ll do a clean install of your Windows 10 machine and re-activate it.

Meanwhile, Omnisoft published a seemingly simple solution to this problem:
“So if you’re stuck unable to restart, open a command line (Start >search for “cmd”>click on “Command line”), and type “shutdown /r /t 0 /f” (no quotes) to force a shutdown. It may take up to 10 minutes, but your machine will eventually restart. From there, check Windows Update, and install the build offered (you may have to update twice, once to the “base build” of 19002.1, and then the fixed 19002.1002). Some users are reporting having to reboot twice, as “Update and restart” still shows after an initial reboot, but you should eventually get there.”
According to the report, the solution came three days after the initial update. However, newer reports are still coming out pointing out the issue becoming worse.
Windows 10 19002.1002 – The Solution
Microsoft doesn’t have any clear timeline on when the fix will manifest and if the 19002.1002. They also did not say if the final versions would be error-free before they were released to the public in November 2019.
Meanwhile, Microsoft advised “devices in an infected system not to install this optional non-security update.”
Furthermore, the Microsoft blog mentions other concerns involving older versions of anti-cheat software. These are in conjunction with games running the most recent 19H1 Insider Preview builds.
However, these updates may cause PCs to experience crashes. Using the dark theme reportedly causes the hardware keyboard text prediction candidate window to become unreadable due to black text on a dark grey background.
Other issues they noted include:
- Inconsistencies on status relayed between Settings header and the main page of Windows Update Settings.
- Some Bluetooth devices can fail to reconnect as intended after closing the device lid.
We guess we’ll have to wait and watch the insiders throw rants for all the hassles they are experiencing right now.
Download Windows 10 build 19002
Although there are no ISO files for Windows 10 build 19002, the update is available immediately through the Fast ring. This preview build will automatically download and run on your computer. You can also force the upgrade by going to Settings > Update & protection > Windows Update and selecting the Check for Update option.
